Five Great Kong Recipes

1. The Classic Peanut Butter Delight

Ingredients:

– Unsweetened peanut butter

– A handful of kibble or small treats

Instructions:

Layer the bottom of the Kong with peanut butter, add in the kibble, and seal the top with another dollop of peanut butter. This simple recipe is a hit with both Beau and Brandy and keeps them occupied for a good while.

2. The Banana-Yogurt Mix-Up

Ingredients:

– 1 ripe banana

– 2 tablespoons of plain, unsweetened yogurt

– A sprinkle of flaxseeds (optional)

Instructions:

Mash the banana and mix it with yogurt and flaxseeds for added nutrition. Stuff the mixture into the Kong and freeze for a few hours. This cold treat is perfect for hot summer days.

3. Sweet Potato and Chicken Chunk Fiesta

Ingredients:

– Boiled or baked sweet potato

– Cooked, unsalted chicken breast

– A small amount of low-fat cream cheese (to seal)

Instructions:

Mash the sweet potato and mix in small chunks of chicken. Stuff the Kong with this mixture and seal the top with cream cheese. This recipe is both nutritious and delicious.

4. The Pumpkin Puree Surprise

Ingredients:

– Canned pumpkin puree (ensure it’s plain pumpkin, not pie filling)

– A handful of dry kibble or treats

Instructions:

Mix the pumpkin puree with kibble and stuff the Kong. You can freeze it to make the enjoyment last even longer. Pumpkin is great for dogs’ digestion.

. Apple and Oatmeal Breakfast Special

Ingredients:

– 1 apple, finely chopped (ensure no seeds)

– Cooked oatmeal (cooled)

– A sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions:

Mix the apple pieces with oatmeal and cinnamon, then stuff the mixture into the Kong. This can be a delightful breakfast treat to start the day.
