Our 15-year-old Peekinese hip and leg were deteriorating he had surgery eight years ago I take him for acupuncture, walk him. Cbd oil and arnica montana for pain. I make his food. we have a stroller for when he gets tired on walks. he started sleeping all day waking up during the night I changed his nutrition and ordered this soft back brace and after several adjustments to get it right over a few days he began walking a lot better he even walks around the house when we’re not out on a walk. between the new nutrition and him being able to use the muscles on his supported spine and his back leg we are slowly building his mobility back this was a great investment you just have to get the straps fit right around the chest and the straps that loop around the top of the leg onto the back Velcro and then take a picture of when you get it right, then start copying it. You can tell when you adjust it to fit correctly. they start walking correctly. Takes time.( Be careful to not get it too tight or too loose)Update: the back brace is still working great we only use it for walks but now we’ve added a thin leash to the back loops that are for the leg straps so we can help lift his back end when needed. We added 1.5 melatonin at night helps him sleep through the night and we give him a natural pain reliever called PEA he’s 10 pounds we give him half of a capsule in the morning half in the evening and the melatonin right before bed so anytime he’s outside he wears the back brace. when we bring him inside we take it off to help strengthen his legs without it he’s doing great. I appreciate this back brace. It has been a lifesaver for my 10 pound 15-year-old Pekingese.I recommend to only use this on walks then take it off to allow them to walk without it to strengthen their legs and back muscles. Otherwise they will become weaker from wearing & depending on it all the time.

Update: I stated I would update the review and my dog’s compressions have healed. Took about 10 days for him not to get up without yelping from a sound sleep and he seemed to completely heal after about 4 weeks. We stopped using strong meds around two weeks later and the brace a few days after that. He was completely off meds at 3 weeks. I am using the brace when I take him out for any “long” walks, or I should say, longer walk for him. I was happy at how quickly he started getting better and my vet asked which brace we used when I told him at his follow up appointment yesterday and suggested we continue using it as needed. My dog has had issues with IVDD for a few years now. He ended up with two new compression sites that were causing him a great deal of pain to the point where we couldn’t sleep because he would yelp and roll around several times during the night. We had taken him to one vet who prescribed meds, but it didn’t help much. So we took him back about 4 days later when there was no improvement. He was prescribed 100 mg of gabapentin along with an anti-inflammatory. The meds didn’t help much that first night. They helped him settle down to sleep, but he was still waking up yelping from the pain to the point we thought we may have to put him down. The brace came Sunday evening, but I didn’t use it til Tuesday morning (yesterday) because I wasn’t sure if it would help or hurt. Turns out, it helped almost immediately. The fit of the product is a bit tricky. The body seems to fit perfectly, but the straps for the hind legs are a little short and barely make it through the loops for my dog. That said, sleeping in it for the first night, he only yelped twice and has been able to nap painlessly during the day. While I believe it is a combination of the drugs and brace that are working, I noticed a significant improvement by adding the brace. Highly recommend for anyone that has a dog or dogs with pain from IVDD. As some of the other reviewers noted, it will probably not fit dogs with longer backs like dachshunds. Although the brace fits so dogs can to go to the bathroom with the brace on, he doesn’t seem to feel comfortable doing it because he can’t move in it as easily, so we take it off when he needs to potty. As far as tolerance for wearing the product, my dog seemed a little hesitant at first, but is now comfortable wearing it. After a week of painful nights, I think he understands it is helping him. He walks better and sleeps better. It may be a bit expensive, but it is worth a try. I will post an update later in the month.

I initially ordered an XL for my dog as he is 17 inches long from the crease of his neck to the literal base of his tail. XL was way too long so I had to return for a L. The L fits perfect! If your dog is in between sizes the measurement I would worry about the most is the back measurement. And instead of going all the way to the literal base of the tail I would go to about the hips. The length of the back on the L is 15.5 inches. Back is the most important part of the harness to make sure it fits- if it’s too long it will not offer proper support for your dog and they will not be able to walk properly in it. The rest of the back brace is adjustable enough to fit everywhere else as long as the back length is correct. It DEFINITELY helps my dog be able to walk. Without it he has a “drunken back end” and will severely lean to the left/drag his back legs. This brace helps him be able to walk normally- not perfectly but WAY better than without and I like that he can stay mobile while his back heals so his leg muscles don’t atrophy. The “bones” in the back brace are also made of plastic which is a huge bonus for us because that means I can take him to the beach on calm days for some hydrotherapy relief on his spine- If the “bones” that keep the back brace sturdy were made of metal they would rust from the salt water.

It was sad seeing my little buddy no longer active , unable to walk , sad eyes, and obviously in pain. I took him to the ve to learn he has intevertical disc disease (IVDD). I paniced when the Vet said possible proralisis.I was in full.. ” What do you mean my little guy may not be able to walk.” The vet calmed me down and advised he would be getting meds to see if that will elivate the pressure on his spine. I hoped on Amazon and actual looked into the wheel chairs; I then saw this Brace as a suggested Item . So I figured if there is a back brace for me, why can’t this work for him. There are others however I liked the color of this one and the look.Once I received it I was even more impressed with by the overall design and material. This brace is made with quality material and the design of it resembles more of a harness than an orthepedic brace. The support it provides him seems to be snugg around his body with three flexible support rods on his back and ther is even a support rod on the chest plate area. My little guy could only mange about 3 steps and his little hind legs would give out. He would sit down turn and look at me with the saddest eyes. He couldn’t control his bladder and it was killing to hold in his poop because he refused to go in the house and refused to allow me to put a diaper on him. He would just wimper and I knew to carry him outside. With the prescribed meds the vet gave him and this brace. My baby is walking again on our walks. I no longer have to carry him. He is back to chasing the lizards and running the squirls up the tree. The brace looks good on him also. He was scared of it at first until I said the magic words “potty” because he knows that means he gets to go outside. I’m satisfied with that becuase I can put the harnes on him with ease. Once it’s on he is ready to go and heads to the door.If your dog suffers from IVDD or any other back issues. I stand behind this brace…

I purchased this dog harness a few months ago and was excited to use it on my furry friend during our daily walks. However, the harness broke unexpectedly while we were walking on a busy street, putting my dog’s life in danger. The buckle and straps completely detached from the harness, leaving my dog unrestrained and vulnerable to the busy traffic. I was lucky enough to grab him before he ran out into the street and got hit by a car. This harness is poorly designed and made of cheap materials. It is not sturdy enough to hold a dog in place, especially in a potentially dangerous situation like crossing a busy street. I am beyond disappointed and outraged that I trusted this product with my beloved pet’s safety, only for it to fail so catastrophically.I strongly advise against purchasing this dog harness, as it is not reliable and could cause harm to your pet. The safety of our furry friends should always be a top priority, and this harness clearly falls short of that standard.

We returned because this didn’t work for our girl ): I really wish it would have. It was great quality otherwise and hopefully it works for someone else.

Cannot say enough positive things about this harness!! My French bulldog injured his thoracic vertebrae jumping off the bed, causing massive amounts of pain with any movement. He was taking 3 medications with minimal improvement for weeks and I was starting to think this was going to be our new normal UNTIL we got him this harness. This harness saved our little guy, he had improvement and the ability to move freely within a day of wearing this. We went from strict crate rest to walks and his feisty personality started to come through again. This harness has so much support, very easy to put on, and so worth the money. GET THIS FOR YOUR FUR BABY, it’ll change everything!! 🩷

I agree with the previous reviews that says the sizing is off. My dog fits the measurements of an XL perfectly (right at the high point of the ranges), but it arrived today and is way too long for him. I ordered a L this time, hoping it will actually fit. Unfortunately I can’t get the 10% discount that was offered before either. Disappointed in the inaccurate description and inconvenience of having to reorder and wait longer to get my dog some relief. Giving just two stars until I see how the new one fits.

I highly recommend this brand because it gives necessary support to the back in IVDD dogs. I’ve tried a few others, but they looked flimsy and too soft. It’s Def worth the price; a one- time trip to a grocery store. This price is cheaper than in other retailers with this type of quality.I’m a picky consumer and able to discern quality from copycatting.

So, this brace is smaller then expected. I have a 12 lb male Pomeranian and had to buy the medium. My baby hurt his low back from jumping off the sofa( yes he has stairs ) but won’t use them! The brace is simple to use . It is taking him some time to get use to this brace. He stands and won’t move until I coax him with a treat to walk in it. Then he just plops down and won’t move . I keep it snug but not tight. I leave 1 finger width between his leg n brace for space to not rub or pull his skin. I’m hoping after a few more days he will get use to wearing this brace. I have not noticed any improvement in his limping as of yet. It’s been 5 days. This brace does slow him down . He doesn’t want to play or run with this brace on as of yet. Hoping it improves with the price I paid for this item. His vet does have him on a nerve pill and inflammation pill as well and recommended I research a ivdd support back brace for him. Fingers crossed this brace helps soon!
